I want to firstly thank EVERYONE that commented on the Pro Choice post. It incited the most ever comments on a singular post on Style Bubble and a flow of anecdotes, words of support and poignant points raised about the blogosphere that gives both bloggers and readers food for thought, which I never imagined would happen. However I do want to stress that I did not mean or want people to criticise the trio of bloggers that I used as points of illustration. In fact, something popped up that definitely affirms that bloggers like Fashion Toast and Karlas Closet are influential in a way that mine would never be, that they have a very special place in the blogosphere hence their success... bring forward the summer 08/09 lookbook of Australian label Maurie and Eve, which in its styling, photography and even individual item design could not remind me any MORE of Rumi's pictures ...
Ripped denim, tie dye, distressed leather, black sequins, shapes that don't distract or are difficult to wear... all of that stuff that runs through the much of the current blogosphere climate and is usually met with a lot of enthusiasm. Like I said before, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that especially if prospective customers buying Maurie and Eve (apparently it's getting a huge US launch next year...) takes these items out of its sunkissed, tanned, tousled plaited hair context and somehow comes up with a different version of it. I'm especially liking the scratch noise prints.
